Core Current Transformer

A core current transformer is a current transformer whose magnetic core is a closed ring around the primary conductor. The core construction decides how the transformer behaves: solid-core transformers have a fixed core that the conductor passes through, while split-core transformers have a core that opens, so the transformer can be clamped around an existing conductor without breaking the circuit.

Solid-core models in the manufacturer's range include epoxy resin cast medium voltage transformers such as the GFLZZ0757-35Q, a fully enclosed outdoor unit for 35kV, and wound type, precision and post type models for medium voltage metering and protection. Split-core models include the LZCK, LMCK, LZCG, LZCT and FU families, from small indoor clamp-on units to outdoor resin cast units for 11kV and 35kV systems.

The choice between solid-core and split-core is usually decided by installation: if the conductor can be passed through the core during installation or maintenance, a solid-core unit is the straightforward choice; if the circuit cannot be broken, a split-core unit is required. Accuracy class, ratio, rated voltage and burden then narrow the choice within each construction.

Before ordering, confirm the construction type, the rated voltage and current, the accuracy class, the window or core size, and the delivery terms. Ask for the current datasheet to be confirmed in writing before ordering.

What to confirm before ordering

Before payment, confirm the model, the specification from the current datasheet, the quantity, the price, the lead time, and the delivery terms, in writing. Ask in your inquiry to confirm the payment terms, the trade terms, and the reply time you should expect, rather than assuming any of them. No price, minimum order or lead time figure is stated on this site.

Send an inquiry: include the model, the test or measurement requirement, and the quantity you need. Before payment, confirm the model, the specification from the current datasheet, the quantity, and the delivery terms.
